Kem bánh ga tô bông lan (Chocolate buttercream frosting)


Learn how to make a light, and not too sweet chocolate buttercream. Perfect for icing cupcake, birthday cake, and Yule log cake for Christmas. This butter cream can hold its shape very well at room temperature.

(makes about 2 cups of frosting)

1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
5 oz (140 g) sugar
2½ tbsp (20 g) cornstarch
16 oz (454 g) butter, softened, cut into 1 tbsp pieces
1 tsp vanilla
4 oz (113 g) semi-sweet chocolate (or to your taste)
